School of Liminal Spirituality

I offer consultations for curious individuals seeking to explore their spirituality in integrity with the wholeness of their complex being.

Maybe you feel in between, both/and/neither.

You feel a calling to explore Jewish spirituality or practice, but you’re not sure where to start.

You may hold multiple spiritual and cultural identities or affiliations, and you’re not sure where you fit in.

You might have had meaningful spiritual experiences or been in ceremony that you want to integrate in a Jewish context.

Maybe you’re a skeptic about all of this stuff, but called to learn and want your questioning and curious mind to be welcome.

You want a space to explore Jewish spirituality, practice, or identity where you can be honest about your values, politics, relationships, and commitments.

I’m here for it.

No litmus tests, no identity policing. I’m here for the weird, wild meanderings of your soul.

A little about me:

I’m a rabbi with background and experience in walking in the liminal spaces between categories. I was raised Catholic, spent much of my childhood as a third-culture kid in a Muslim-majority country, tried to find the meaning of life by studying anthropology and philosophy, and then fell in love with Judaism so hard I converted and eventually became a rabbi. Along the way, I felt the restless stirring of my soul again, leading me into further exploration of different modes of spiritual practice, myth, archetypes, and mysticism. I have had spiritual experiences that have surprised and challenged me to my core.

In other words, exploring the borderlands between identities, religions, the known and unknown is familiar territory to me.

I am…

LGBTQ+ affirming

Neurodivergent affirming

Sex positive

Working to be anti-racist and decolonize my thinking and practice

If it’s “woo” I’ve probably at a least heard of it.

How we can work together:

Everything you’ve ever wanted to ask a rabbi but weren’t sure you could. I offer flexible sessions focused on what you want to explore or learn. This could look like meeting once to talk about something you’re curious about or want to explore through a Jewish lens. Or we could meet several times to go into a topic or area in more depth.

Gift Economy – offer what you can

I offer this as a service to the community because I know that many people who want to access Jewish spiritual life may find available institutions to be inaccessible – financially or otherwise.

I am fortunate to have full-time employment that enables me to share my time and energy as a consultant without needing to make it my primary income. In order to sustain this work, I ask that you offer what you are able in exchange.

Suggested contributions could be:

Financial – $36, $50, or $72 per hour, depending on your means

Skill trade or barter – are you an artist, web designer, crafter, or offer another service or product that you can share? Let me know, and we’ll figure something out!
